Zuckermann—Spindler Flemish Single

Owen Cummings plays selections from J. S. Bach’s “Capriccio on the Departure of a Beloved Brother.”

This Flemish Single was an unfinished project started by harpsichord builder Kevin Spindler (1963-2022). After his passing, this instrument was finished at the Zuckermann Stonington Shop. It is a copy of the Flemish single by Andreas Ruckers, 1640, in the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments, with its original range C/E-c’’’ (45 notes with short octave).
