Weronika Janyst is a harpsichord technician, tuner, harpsichordist, and organist with Master's degrees from HMT Leipzig and UMFC Warsaw.
Her growing interest in the technical aspects of historical keyboard instruments led to an Erasmus+ traineeship in Leipzig, where she curated and maintained a variety of department’s instruments - harpsichords, virginals, positive organs, clavichords and historical pianos.
Since then, she has gained extensive experience working with specialists across Europe and the USA, including placements at Zuckermann Harpsichords International in Stonington, Connecticut and Atelier Marc Ducornet in Paris, and visiting many other makers across Europe. She owes thanks to the support of, and cooperation with many builders and instrument technicians from around the world who have been so generous with their time and knowledge.
Weronika works as a freelance technician undertaking regulations and renovations of instruments from the harpsichord family (harpsichords, virginals, spinets) for institutions, companies and private persons throughout Europe. As a tuner and keyboard technician, she works at various international festivals, and is also requested for CD recording sessions.
She also works at the UMFC, Warsaw, where she maintains and tunes the historical keyboard instruments as well as giving classes in both harpsichord playing and harpsichord maintenance.
As a performer, she regularly plays continuo and accompanies at early music courses, with her solo harpsichord playing having earned awards at competitions in Vilnius, Poznan, and Cracow.
