This instrument is David Jacques Way’s Blanchet/Taskin model in emulation of large French harpsichords of the 18th century. This particular instrument is concert-ready and available for immediate sale. It began life as a kit built from Zuckermann parts in the early 1980s. The customer did a beautiful job on the case construction and then gave up the project for many years. Finally he hired us to completely decorate the instrument in the French style with two case colors and 22K gold bands. The soundboard painting by Tatyana Nivina is absolutely stunning. Then he asked us to do all of the musical action work from stringing to voicing which was finished by Elena Zamolodchikova. The result is an excellent instrument at a reasonable price and as close as you can get to a shop-built Zuckerman. The following information is from our catalog:

The tone of our French Double is refined and colorful, and is well known for its majestic bass.
