This little Flemish belongs to a dear client of ours who owned a bed and breakfast in a Connecticut farmhouse where this harpsichord had a prominent home for many years. Recently, he and his partner decided to retire and downsize and he asked us to sell it for him. He had commissioned us some 20 years ago to renovate the action and decorate the case with Flemish-style arabesques over hand-made paint. The pigments used are extremely rare. It has a 1x8’, 1x4’ disposition with a buff stop. This early Zuckermann Flemish model was based on the work of Ruckers family of Antwerp and has the range typical of a 17th-century harpsichord from their illustrious firm. This range is quite useful for quite a lot of music and small size of the case makes it an excellent gig harpsichord for both solo and continuo work. It is in concert-ready condition.
